Letter to the editor | Vote no on all four initiatives

Posted on October 22nd, 2024 By: Kathy Hall

These initiatives are on our ballot because Brian Heywood a millionaire hedge fund manager spent 10’s of MILLIONS of dollars to get them on our ballots. Let’s look at their impact:

Initiative 2109 would cut over $2 BILLION from education, school construction, and childcare in Washington State. Voting yes on I-2109 would only benefit 0.2% of Washingtonians, it would negatively impact 99.8% of Washingtonians. Vote NO on I-2109!

Initiative 2117 would allow more toxic pollution in our air, land, and waterways, cut transit programs and transportation infrastructure projects, and gut programs that protect us from wildfires. A yes vote on I-2117 would negatively impact ALL Washingtonians and our visitors! Vote NO on I-2117!

Initiative 2124 only helps big private insurance companies who raise premiums and deny coverage to those with pre-existing conditions. It would bankrupt Washington’s long term care benefits fund. Vote NO on I-2124!

Initiative 2066 would raise annual gas utility bills by $150 or more. It attacks energy efficiency by repealing commonsense protections. It is part of a nationwide scheme to stop our transition to clean energy. Vote NO on I-2066!

The initiatives’ slogan “Vote Yes, Pay Less” really only applies to a small number of very wealthy Washingtonians, don’t be deceived. Defend hard-working Washington families, VOTE NO!
