In Loving Memory of Robert Matthew “Bobby” Hunt
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Matthew “Bobby” Hunt, a free spirit and adventurer, who left us on December 3rd, 2023. Born in the early hours of July 12th, 1977, at Tacoma General, Bobby was the youngest of three children, growing up in the idyllic surroundings of Gig Harbor on Lake Holiday.
Bobby’s childhood was marked by the love and laughter of his family, spending countless hours on the water, and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. His spirit thrived on the open waters and the freedom of the road, embodying a true wanderlust that led him to explore the diverse landscapes of America.
Bobby had a zest for life, and his favorite color, yellow, reflected his vibrant spirit. The color yellow, symbolizing positivity and energy, was a fitting representation of Bobby’s cheerful personality and his ability to spread warmth to those around him.
Bobby’s true happiness was found in the company of his two beloved children, Cheyanne and Carter. A dedicated and loving father, Bobby reveled in the simple joys of family life.
He took great pride in being a father, finding fulfillment in the milestones, laughter, and everyday adventures that parenthood brought. Bobby’s love for his children was unwavering. His warm smile and caring nature created a home filled with love and happiness.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Leroy Hunt, and his grandparents, Sylvan James, and Elizabeth Gilbertson. Bobby is survived by his two cherished children, Cheyanne and Carter Hunt, his loving mother, Penny Hunt, Fred Decker, a man he called dad, devoted brother Justin Hunt, and caring sister Barbara Hunt. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who will fondly remember the joy he brought into their lives.
A memorial service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held for the family at Vaughn Bay Cemetery at 12:00 Noon Saturday, Jan. 27, followed by a gathering for friends and loved ones at 1:00 PM in the Lake Holiday Clubhouse in Gig Harbor. In honoring Bobby’s adventurous spirit, let us come together to share stories, memories, and the enduring love that will forever live on in our hearts.
May Bobby’s soul find peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us to embrace life with the same passion and enthusiasm that he did.
