Jerry (Jet) Edward Tanksley

Jerry (Jet) Edward Tanksley was born November 4th 1966, Jet left this town he loved in the early morning hours of December 19th 2023.

Jet was a lifelong resident of Gig Harbor and a graduate of Peninsula High School, He made his living fishing for the Gig Harbor fleet since he was a teenager, and as a class A Teamsters truck driver. Jet loved this town with all his heart and enjoyed telling his stories from many years of fishing in Alaska, as well as how amazing Gig Harbor was in the “old days.”

He always had a myriad of jokes to share and a smile to brighten those around him. He was very proud of his children with all they had accomplished and loved his family. He is preceded in death by his eldest Daughter: Alexandra Renee Tanksley (Brenda) & Grandparents.

He is survived by his Children: Jordan Edward Tanksley (Barbie), Grace Ireland Tanksley & Conner Patrick Tanksley (Jeniffer). Sister: Sandy McDonald, Brother: Wesley Tanksley. Father: Duke Tanksley and Mother: Dixie Clements, as well as His Aunt & Uncle and Cousins. Jet will be missed, and his children hope to have a small memorial in the future when the weather gets warmer, when they can all be together. So, until then raise a glass to the sky and remember these words you would always hear him say……………
