Gig Harbor High School Athletes of the Week

The Gig Harbor High School Booster Club is providing Gig Harbor Now with the winners of each school’s athlete of the week awards.

Award winners are selected by the coaches and athletic director. They are selected based on the school motto, “Be Kind, Be Engaged, Be Responsible.”

These are the winners for the week of March 20.

Sam Campeau

Be Kind

Class: Senior

Sport: Girls golf

Coach Milbourn: “Sam Campeau, who is the lone senior on the team, represents The Tide Way by always being kind to teammates, volunteers, and course personnel. Sam always brings such a positive energy to practice and I see the impact that energy has on her teammates.” ~ Coach Milbourn

Be Engaged

Class: Junior

Sport: Baseball

Coach Hanon: “Had a home run, 1 inning pitched with 2 strikeouts, threw a runner out at the plate from the outfield. Very engaged as a player and leader. Showed great leadership and responsibility throughout our Richland trip to start the season.”

Delaney Moyer

Be Responsible

Class: Sophomore

Sports: Girls water polo

Coach Kelly: “Delaney Moyer is the definition of student-athlete, she excels in the classroom and the pool. She leads by example, always is working hard, and is respectful of her teammates and coaches. Her positive attitude and kindness are embraced by all of her teammates.”
