Prosecutors charge elementary school teacher with three new counts of molestation
Pierce County prosecutors charged Gig Harbor resident Jordan Roy Henderson with three additional counts of first-degree child molestation, according to Superior Court documents.
Prosecutors entered the new charges against the Evergreen Elementary School teacher on Wednesday, June 26. Documents indicate that a new victim came forward after Henderson was initially charged in April.
Henderson remains free after he posted $750,000 bail. The court did not order an increase in bail after hearing the new charges.
Court documents indicate that three parents gave statements during Wednesday’s hearing. The court also issued a new protection order barring Henderson from contacting an 11-year-old female.
Prosecutors originally charged Henderson, 34, with nine counts of child molestation. The Peninsula School District placed him on administrative leave after county sheriff’s deputies began investigating the allegations in February.
In documents filed with the original nine counts, students accused Henderson of touching them on their thighs, chests, buttocks and “privates.”
Henderson was briefly jailed at the end of May, after he reportedly violated his parole by having gatherings at his home with minors present. The court increased Henderson’s bail to $750,000, which he posted.
