Gig Harbor Police Blotter: Burglary suspect says officers are cosmonauts
Editor’s note: The Blotter is written based on information provided by Gig Harbor Police and Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One.
An 80-year-old homeowner called police after finding a woman he didn’t know sleeping on the floor near his couch around 11 a.m. April 27.
The man told police he had been home all day, but didn’t hear the woman enter the house. The 67-year-old woman told officers she thought the home was vacant and for sale.
The woman became agitated with officers, accusing them of being “Russian cosmonauts and Ukranian killers.” Officers noted that they responded to several calls earlier that week in which the woman yelled at other people.
Officers arrested the woman and booked her into the Kitsap County Jail on suspicion of burglary.
Taser threat subdues suspect
An officer stopped to investigate when he noticed a spray-painted Honda Civic backed into a parking stall on Olympic Drive around 11:30 p.m. April 28. He thought the car was suspicious because it had a flat tire, no front license plate and its hood and trunk were ajar.
A license plate dangled from the trunk, attached with a clothes hangar. The plate had been stolen from a Subaru.
Officers attempted to detain a man working on the car in the parking lot. He tried to push through the two officers and run, but calmed down when one of the officers drew his Taser and threatened to use it.
Officers found pills, believed to be fentanyl, on the center console of the vehicle, which had been stolen from Bremerton. Officers took the suspect, the subject of multiple warrants, to the Kitsap County Jail.
