It was the third major fire Gig Harbor firefighters responded to since Friday.
An 80-foot yacht burned and partially sank early Friday at Peninsula Yacht Basin on North Harborview Drive. Firefighters also battled a blaze Friday afternoon on the 9700 block of Vernhardson Place, not far from the boat fire.
Sunday’s fire took place in a new neighborhood, known as The Cove, being developed by Gig Harbor-based Rush Construction.
Gig Harbor Fire prevented the flames from spreading to occupied homes nearby and other houses still under construction in the neighborhood.
