Deputies say woman shot and killed boyfriend at home on Ray Nash Drive
Pierce County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested 34-year-old woman on suspicion of shooting and killing her boyfriend on the 6300 block of Ray Nash Drive in Gig Harbor late on Wednesday, June 26.
Deputies booked the woman into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder, according to a blog media post from the sheriff’s department. Her name was not immediately available.
Neighbors called 911 around 10 p.m. Wednesday to report hearing several shots fired. One caller told dispatchers they saw a woman running down the road.
Deputies detained the woman and went to the home on Ray Nash Drive, between Whitmore Drive and Artondale Drive. They found a 39-year-old man dead inside the home.
The woman’s 11-year-old daughter and two other young relatives also were home, according to the sheriff’s department.
Detectives learned that the suspect and the victim were both using drugs at the time of the shooting. They believe the woman shot her boyfriend, then fired more shots as she ran from the home.
