Light snow, freezing rain possible Jan. 16 and 17
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather message for Western Washington from 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, through 1 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Weather Service forecasters expect light snow and possible freezing rain in the area Tuesday evening. The message warns of accumulations of less than a half inch of snow and ice accumulation of up to 1/10th of an inch.

The warning covers most of Western Washington, including the Tacoma and Bremerton areas. Freezing rain will hit Lewis County later this afternoon and move north into the Puget Sound region this evening.
The forecast as of 10 a.m. Tuesday calls for temperatures to rise into the high 30s and 40s starting Wednesday. Rain is expected for the foreseeable future.
