“I am currently asymptomatic — and I am grateful to be fully vaccinated and boosted,” Kilmer said in a news release. “I will follow CDC guidance and isolate for the next several days.”
Kilmer added that his office will remain “fully operational” and he plans to work remotely.
Kilmer is among several top officials in Washington, D.C., who recently tested positive for Covid.
Many of those cases have been linked to the Gridiron Club dinner held Saturday, April 2. Kilmer did not attend the event, according to his communications director, Andrew Wright.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., also announced a positive Covid test on Thursday and also did not attend the Gridiron dinner.
Top officials linked to the Gridiron Club outbreak include Attorney General Merrick Garland, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and several members of Congress.
