Seattle-based author Harriet Baskas has written about airports, museums, travel and other topics. Baskas will talk about why most museums display only a fraction of their collections at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Harbor History Museum.

Sometimes it’s because there’s simply not enough space. But it can also be for cultural, philosophical, environmental or even superstitious reasons. The history museum’s own collections manager will be on hand to show some local “hidden treasures” and discuss where they came from.

Admission costs $5 for members or $10 for non-members. Make reservations here.
