Arts & Entertainment Sponsor
Arts & Entertainment stories are made possible in part by the Gig Harbor Film Festival, a proud sponsor of Gig Harbor Now.
In 1941, as an employee of the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), Guthrie toured the Columbia River and the BPA’s Grand Coulee Dam project. He composed 26 songs about the project in 30 days.
At Thursday’s museum program, audience members can sing along to legendary Guthrie songs like “Roll on Columbia,” “Pastures of Plenty” and “This Land is Your Land,” and learn the sometimes funny, sometimes tragic, stories behind the songs. Admission is $5 for museum members or $10 for non-members. For reservations, email [email protected].
