Harbor Happenings | Future of Peninsula Gardens to be discussed
The community can weigh in on future uses for the old Peninsula Gardens site Wednesday, June 12, at a meeting sponsored by PenMet Parks.
Arts & Entertainment Sponsor
Arts & Entertainment stories are made possible in part by the Gig Harbor Film Festival, a proud sponsor of Gig Harbor Now.
For many years, Peninsula Gardens was one of the area’s most popular plant nurseries. When the nursery closed, the site hosted a weekly farmers market. Peninsula Metropolitan Parks District purchased the property when the farmers market moved to downtown Gig Harbor.
It has been vacant for several years. Wednesday’s meeting is the first of several opportunities for the public to be involved in planning the future park. The meeting will take place from 6–8 p.m. Wednesday at PenMet’s headquarters, 2416 14th Ave. NW, and will include an opinion survey.
