Boatyard offering free tours; Marketplace Grill relocating
Eddon Boatyard, with funding from the city of Gig Harbor, is offering free tours beginning on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Arts & Entertainment Sponsor
Arts & Entertainment stories are made possible in part by the Gig Harbor Film Festival, a proud sponsor of Gig Harbor Now.
Visitors will discover the maritime history of the unique working waterfront site. They’ll learn how a community came together to save the boatyard and the myriad ways the historic site’s shops, dock, house and grounds serve the community today.
A boatyard guide will explain current Gig Harbor BoatShop boat restoration projects and detail BoatShop maritime programs.
All tour participants must properly wear a face mask and provide proof of vaccination.

Marketplace Grille leaving Finholm District site
Marketplace Grille will be closing and searching for a new site, owners Carlene Lai Fook and Richard Lai Fook recently announced.
At their longtime location at 8825 North Harborview Drive, they “are unable to realize our vision to create an environment where family and community can meet and enjoy great food and conversation,” they wrote.
Sunday will be the last day for in-house dining. They’ll be leaving the Finholm District waterfront location, where they’ve been featuring a Caribbean-influenced, seafood-leaning menu, on Sept 30.
“However, we will be relocating and will keep our phone number (253-858-3487) active, and updated information will be provided there,” they said. “Thank you for your love and support through the years. See you at our new location!”
