Barbara Moss’s letter regarding the housing needs is spot right on. The Gig Harbor council is ass backwards with the multiple family tax exemption ordinance they are proposing. When it comes to the actual math, if you do it, it will not provide the housing needed for the people who work in our city who
Thank you for providing information on the “affordable housing.” I do agree that we do need to provide housing that is more affordable for all people. I do however have concerns about offering “ incentives” to builders. It is my understanding that one proposal involves further taxing residents in order to waive taxes for builders.
The city of Gig Harbor is studying many options to expand access to affordable housing — not just a multi-family tax exemption.
Washington is a beautiful state situated in the fabulous northwest. It has the Pacific Ocean, the Olympics, the Cascades, and many other mountain ranges, the Columbia River along with many other rivers. We’re blessed with much natural beauty. Washington also has no income tax. And, according to Forbes, Washington is one of only 9 states
