Schedules set for Summer Sounds, Friday Movie Night
The popular Summer Sounds at Skansie concert series will return starting June 28, the city of Gig Harbor announced this week.

In addition to setting the schedule for the 10-week concert series, the city announced that the Friday Night Movie Series will move to Sehmel Homestead Park, in partnership with PenMet Parks. The first movie is July 1.
Summer Sounds at Skansie
The concerts will begin at 6 p.m., but concert-goers are asked to not set up chairs before 3 p.m. in order to keep Skanise Brothers Park available for other uses. Roping off seats and chairs or blankets on the Jerisich Dock Viewing Platform is not permitted. Tents or canopies are not allowed, but small umbrellas can be used.
The schedule:
June 28: Soul Searching, a nine-member ensemble that focuses on the hits of Aretha Franklin and Elvis Presley.
July 5: Good Co, which bills itself as playing “Funk, Pop, Electro Swing, and everything danceable.”
July 12: The ABBAGraphs, who play Abba songs and other hits of the disco era.
July 19: The Profits, a popular Gig Harbor-based cover band.
July 26: The Paperboys, who blend Celtic, bluegrass, Mexican son jarocho, brass band and Canadian root music.
Aug 2: Mark Hurwitz and Gin Creek, two-time nominee for Best Band by the Washington Blues Society.
Aug. 9: The Beatniks, a Gig Harbor band which performs ’60s, ’70s and ’80s music.
Aug. 16: Abney Park, a mix of gypsy rock, EDM, electro swing, industrial dance and Western music.
Aug. 23: Nate Botsford, a country recording artist with recognizable hits that span genres and original songs.
Aug. 30: Sounds Like Dolores, a Gig Harbor-based rock and dance band.
Friday Night Movies
Family-friendly movies will be shown each Friday in July at Sehmel. Activities, entertainment and food will be part of the event, with thematic tie-ins to the movie playing that night.
Movies will begin at 8:30 p.m. The series is presented in partnership with PenMet Parks. Kitsap Bank will provide popcorn.

July 1: Back to the Future, rated PG, 1 hour, 56 minutes.
July 8: The Muppet Movie, rated G, 1 hour, 38 minutes.
July 15: The Little Mermaid, rated G, 1:23.
July 22: Homeward Bound, rated G, 1:25.
July 29: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, rated PG-13, 1:43.
