Norma Peterson Collins passed away peacefully on Jan. 22, 2025, in Puyallup, WA, just two months shy of her 100th birthday.

Born in Tacoma in 1925, she was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1943, and continued her education at Knapp’s Business College. She built a career as a dedicated office secretary and bookkeeper, contributing her skills to Weyerhaeuser and Mutual of Omaha.

In 1963, Norma made her home in Gig Harbor, where she lived a long and fulfilling life, devoted to her family, her faith, and her community. She was an active member of her church and the Christian Women’s Club, offering her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith to those around her. She remained in Gig Harbor until her final years.

Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Kenneth Berglund, Dr. Karl Peterson Sr., and William (Rip) Collins, as well as her son, Dr. Karl Peterson Jr., and daughter-in-law, Linnitt (DuFlon) Peterson.

She leaves behind a cherished family, including her children: Ron, Heidi, Kary (Gail), Korey, and her daughter-in-law, Dawn Peterson, along with nine grandchildren: Brianne (Tim), Mitch (Lek), Brittany, Claire, Tyler (Katey), Brielle (Colin), Zach, Lindsey, and Whitney, and ten great-grandchildren, all whose lives have been deeply influenced by her love and guidance.

From humble beginnings, Norma’s life became a testament to faith, perseverance, and the power of family. Her warmth, generosity, and steadfast spirit have left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Above all, Mom loved the Lord, and we take comfort in knowing she is now walking the golden streets of heaven. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
