Letter to the Editor | Interact Club at Gig Harbor High shows the kids are more than alright
The Interact Club at Gig Harbor High School, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor Midday, is dedicated to community service and youth leadership.
The club engages students in various impactful projects, such as food drives, fundraisers for local and international organizations, and environmental cleanups, fostering teamwork and a spirit of service. By providing leadership opportunities and exposure to global issues, the club helps members develop essential skills and become active global citizens.
Recent activities included support of international polio eradication, Gig Harbor’s annual “Race for a Soldier” and FISH food bank drives.
Looking ahead, the Interact Club of Gig Harbor High School remains committed to its mission of service and leadership. Plans are underway to expand their outreach efforts, partner with more local organizations, and introduce new initiatives that address both local and global challenges. With the continued support of the Rotary Club, the students are excited to explore innovative projects that will further enrich their community and elevate their impact.
The Interact Club at Gig Harbor High School exemplifies the power of youth-driven community service and leadership. By fostering a culture of compassion, responsibility, and engagement, the club empowers its members to make a difference, not only locally but also on a global scale. As they continue to inspire each other and their community, the future looks bright for the members of the Interact Club—together, they are paving the way for a spirit of service that will last a lifetime.
