Christian Keck exemplifies academic excellence, community leadership
Gig Harbor Now is posting profiles featuring the Students of Distinction being honored by the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation. These students will be celebrated during a banquet from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Ocean5, 5268 Point Fosdick Dr.

With a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and a class rank of 1 out of 370 students, and as valedictorian, Christian Keck stands at the pinnacle of academic achievement for his class. His dedication to excellence is reflected in his rigorous course load, which includes 14 AP, Honors, and college-level courses.
Community leadership
Beyond the classroom, Christian works to serve his community. Through his initiative and hard work, he raised $1,087 by organizing car washes to fund Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital’s Water Blaster Bash event. His dedication to community service earned him 137 hours of service, including event planning for the charitable cause.
Athletic achievements
In addition to his academic pursuits and community service, Christian is also a standout athlete. As a member of the cross-country, soccer, and track teams, he has demonstrated his athleticism, teamwork, and competitive spirit on the field and track. His achievements include participating in state-level competitions and serving as captain of the cross-country team.
Future aspirations
Looking ahead, Christian plans to pursue a degree in political science and business law on the Pre-Law track, reflecting his passion for justice, advocacy, and public service. With his impressive academic record, leadership experience, and commitment to social responsibility, Christian is poised to make an impact in the field of law and beyond.
Inspiring mentorship
Reflecting on his high school journey, Christian credits his favorite teacher, Karen Floyd, for her unwavering support and belief in her students’ potential. As the president of the Spanish Club and Bible Study Club, Christian has also played a pivotal role in fostering a sense of community and belonging among his peers.

At public school, I meet people of all different religions, races, economic status, and backgrounds. The diversity … allows me to create relationships with people that foster mutual understandings of one another.”
