Firefighters put out blaze on Ford Drive
Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One extinguished a fire at a home on Ford Drive early Wednesday, Jan. 25.
Nobody was injured in the fire. The only occupant of the house was already outside when firefighters arrived at about 1:20 a.m.
The Pierce County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
Firefighters arriving on scene found smoke and flames in the front porch of the home and vehicles parked in the driveway. GHFMO put the fire out fast enough that help on the way from South Kitsap Fire was canceled while en route.
Firefighters rescued a cat who lived at the residence. The cat, according to a GHFMO social media post, “wanted NOTHING to do with our firefighters,” who returned it to its owner.
As part of their search, crews found the owner’s cat, who wanted NOTHING to do with our firefighters and was glad to be back in the arms of its owner. The Pierce County Fire Marshal’s office is currently investigating this fire.
