Snow in forecast for Gig Harbor all week

Probably not, according to the National Weather Service. We’ll have to settle for a white week-before-Christmas.
As of 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, the weather service’s forecast for Gig Harbor calls for at least a chance of snow every day this week.
An inch or more of snow could fall on Tuesday in Gig Harbor. A winter storm watch issued by the weather service predicts total accumulation of two to seven inches in some spots in the region through Tuesday evening.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, however, are expected to be rainy, with temperatures in the 40s.

Until then, there’s a chance that steady-but-light snowfall could brighten (or interfere with) your last-minute holiday shopping.
“Around an inch” of snow could accumulate Tuesday evening, according to the NWS. That’s the most the weather service predicts for any day this week.
It’ll be cold, though. High temperatures through Friday are forecast in the low to mid 30s, with overnight lows in the 20s.

Chapel Hill Church, 7700 Skansie Ave., will open a warming center for people who need to get in out of the cold. Enter through door D. Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday
