Update: Man killed while trying to get into neighbor’s home
A man who had tried to break into a neighbor’s home Friday morning was shot and killed by one of the residents, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to a call at 7:22 a.m. that a man who had been trying to break into a home at 66th Street and 87th Street, off of Rosedale Street, had been shot, according to spokesman Sgt. Darren Moss. They found a 36-year-old man dead on the back porch of the home. They had the shooter come outside and took him into custody without incident.
Detectives determined that the deceased man and his girlfriend lived next door and after getting into a fight the previous night she went to the neighbor’s house for the evening. The boyfriend tried to break into the house Monday morning and was shot.
